- What did you do this past week?
Not much for this class. I finished Collatz last weekend and did a little bit of cleaning up on Monday. Mostly been working on my other project-based classes as computer graphics is taking up a decent amount of my time. I’m already hitting into a time crunch so I await to see how I’ll handle time management once this class starts ramping up. - What’s in your way?
I should prepare for the project coming up. I have a little bit of experience with SQL and using AWS. I know that Downing will be going over SQL at some point and I feel comparable enough using it but in my experience, it's annoying using the libraries that integrate SQL into languages. - What will you do next week?
To be honest I haven’t really been paying full attention to the lectures this week, so I will have to go over the recordings and relearn what Downing was teaching. - If you read it, what did you think of the Pair Programming?
I’ve read this article multiple times at this point and I feel that I can recite it from the heart. Pair programming is a tool that I find very useful and very refreshing after sessions of working alone. After taking OS and OOP, it's always nice having someone looking behind your back to make sure that you aren't making any glaring mistakes. - What was your experience of types? (this question will vary, week to week)
I am not that familiar with Python so in the context that Dowing is teaching it is new to me. However, the overall concept is something that I am familiar with. - What made you happy this week?
Chinese New Year was this week so I got to see some family and get some nice packets of money… In addition, I haven’t been living on campus and some of my friends who went back came back to town for new years so we will get to hang out over this weekend. - What’s your pick-of-the-week or tip-of-the-week?
If you would like to start exploring SQL I would recommend learning postgresql and using pgadmin to manage your data. AWS isn’t that hard to connect to but I am curious as to how GCP is. Maybe I’ll try it out for these projects?
